Mint Unicorn

Disappointing

This shake comes in 3 distinct layers: A mountain of cream on top, some ice-cream in the middle with flavoured milk underneath. The cream is more than I generally prefer but is not unusual. The ice-cream took me a while to figure out because it tasted somewhat of custard and I originally thought it was instant pudding instead of ice-cream. I had to ask to find out that it is in fact vanilla ice-cream.

Then there is the actual “milkshake” part at the bottom. It’s definitely mint-flavoured but it is essentially just flavoured milk. It isn’t very viscous at all, its just green, mint-flavoured, milky liquid. It is possible that this is what some people are going for but for me a milkshake definitely needs to be thicker than that. The entire serving probably had 2 scoops of ice-cream and it was floating between the flavoured milk and the cream topping.

I gather that being the “unicorn” variant just adds the assortment of sweets visible in the picture.

Living up to the restaurant’s name the presentation was decent (and included a spoon!) and I would like to visit again in the hopes of having a better time. For this particular experience however, “disappointing” is an accurate description.
