Twurkish Delight
from Brocka, Century City on 17 Nov 2019
As a general rule I don’t like milkshakes coming with a mountain of cream on top. I’d rather just have more of the actual milkshake. In this case though, the cream is actually surprisingly good, significantly better than in other milkshakes. I wonder if they added something to the cream to make it taste so different.
The shake itself tastes quite strongly of Turkish delight, which is worth noting because sometimes “Turkish delight” milkshakes are just vanilla milkshakes with some bits thrown in. It is quite thick and creamy, so much so that it’s actually viscous enough to eat almost entirely with the provided spoon. The spoon gets a bit tedious towards the end but I just drank the last bit straight out of the cup.
The flake looks nice but seems unnecessary from a taste and texture perspective.
My primary complaint about this shake is actually that it was served in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon. Even if we ignore the environmental argument against this (which we shouldn’t), I think a shake that was executed this well would really benefit from being presented with a proper spoon and in a proper milkshake glass…and on a plate.
